When the opposition, that recently renewed itself this year, 2022, after the opposition failed to decimate it, was in government briefly during the golden era of national government unity, it turned round the economy that was paralyzed quickly before any poverty stricken supporter of zanu pf could walk twenty kilometres to a hospital whose staff was on strike, and whose pharmacies were empty, tuned into chicken runs. It is crucial to appreciate that the same vibrant opposition that has proved its resilience, and innovative qualities to be enduring, did not have advisors of any sort. Yet it performed beyond expectations, turned a bleak situation around, and saved the economy from total collapse, which was hanging by a very old thread.

This has not been the case with the pestilential, failed and corrupt zanu pf. The parasitic zanu pf is retaining power illegitimately. Partial constitution of its modus operandi to retain power illegitimately has been anchored on mutilation of the supreme law of the land which empowered the scrounging zanu pf to exile transparency, accountability and rule of law so that they could be substituted with rule by law, lawfare, and supremacy of an illegitimate party over the state, which is currently paralyzed, and is morphing into state failure and the consequent collapse. Yet zanu pf opted for an advisory council, whose members were obviously selected on the basis of the degree of their parasitism, with past looting and plundering being used to determine and project their future plundering and looting.

The advisory council, just like the zanu pf cabinet, politburo, central committee, POLAD, or any other partisan, militarized, and politicized institutions such as the zanu pf futile aspirations sympathetic aspirations judiciary and the captured electoral commission, cannot be expected to deliver anything that at least will be instrumental in alleviating the suffering of the people, or to stop their terrorizing by the failed, illegitimate zanu pf. This advisory council, whose existence is unconstitutional has presided over economic stagnation, unemployment endemic, and an ultra volatile exchange rate that is very volatile, married to a very ravaging inflation that has been consistent in the kidnapping of earnings of people whose welfare has been neglected by the terrorist, illegitimate and failed zanu pf, as evidenced by deprivation of prompt, affordable, reliable and decent service delivery.

The whole idea of a so called advisory council is not only wasteful, but is evasion of responsibility, accountability and rule of law. This evasion of the said governance tenets has the utility of ensuring that the failed, scrounging zanu pf predates, plunders and loot with no consequences or sanctions enforced by institutions whose functional independence is secured by a temper proof supreme law of the land that cannot be tempered with, as zanu pf has done, mutilating the supreme law of the land. This is why this paralyzed country does not need an advisory council but only reforms, and democratizing.
